Done Deal; Just Now Another Veteran Superstar Seal Deal With Eintracht Frankfurt in Completed Transfer Worth £30m

Jonathan Burkardt’s switch to Eintracht Frankfurt is now finalized, marking a significant move in the Bundesliga transfer market. The Mainz 05 forward, who holds the record as the club’s all-time top scorer in the Bundesliga, is set to undergo his medical today before being unveiled as a Frankfurt player.

The 24-year-old striker will commit his future to the Eagles until 2030 after agreeing to a deal worth €23 million in total. While Mainz initially pushed for a €30 million package for their prized asset, Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche remained firm on not meeting that valuation.

Negotiations between the two clubs seemed to reach an impasse at one point, raising concerns that the transfer could collapse. However, Burkardt himself was eager to make the switch to Frankfurt, and both sides eventually found common ground to finalize the fee.

With Burkardt’s arrival, Eintracht Frankfurt will now boast an exciting attacking partnership of Burkardt and Hugo Ekitike. Together, the two forwards scored a combined total of 32 goals in league competition last season, setting high expectations for the club’s offensive output in the upcoming campaign.

For Mainz, the departure of their star striker leaves a noticeable gap in their squad. The club will now turn their attention to reinvesting the transfer funds to strengthen their team and maintain competitiveness in the Bundesliga.

This transfer underlines Frankfurt’s intent to build a squad capable of challenging for European qualification, while also providing Burkardt with an opportunity to take the next step in his career at a club with greater ambitions.
