Good News; Miami Dolphins Re-Sign Defensive Tackle To Strengthen Depth Ahead of 2025 Season

The Miami Dolphins have officially re-signed defensive tackle Ben Stille to a one-year contract, marking his return to the team where he initially began his NFL journey. Stille, who first joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2022, previously spent time on their practice squad during his rookie season.

Although he didn’t make Miami’s active roster at the time, Stille gained valuable NFL experience with multiple franchises. After leaving Miami, he went on to appear in regular-season action with the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, and most recently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His time with those teams allowed him to showcase his abilities and continue developing at the professional level.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 295 pounds, the 26-year-old Nebraska alum is known for his work ethic and interior line presence. In limited opportunities across his stints with various teams, Stille demonstrated flashes of potential as a run-stopper and rotational lineman.

By bringing him back, the Dolphins are adding experienced depth to their defensive front as they prepare for the 2025 NFL season. With training camp approaching, Stille will have a chance to compete for a spot on Miami’s 53-man roster and provide support to a unit aiming to bolster its defensive line rotation.

Stille’s return also reflects the Dolphins’ ongoing strategy of evaluating former players with potential upside. The team has frequently looked to re-sign players who understand their system and culture, especially those with prior familiarity with the coaching staff and defensive schemes.

While Stille’s role will likely be determined through preseason performance and competition in camp, his addition brings another versatile option to Miami’s defensive interior. With injuries and rotation always a factor in the NFL, having reliable depth like Stille could prove valuable as the season unfolds.
