Breaking; Kansas Jayhawks Score Major Win as Five-star Elite Prospect Reclassifies to 2025 and Commits to KU
After a quiet stretch in recruitment, the Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball program made a major move on Tuesday by securing a commitment from one of the nation’s most promising high school players. Kohl Rosario, a highly touted shooting guard ranked No. 27 in the class of 2026 by Rivals, has announced he will reclassify to the class of 2025 and suit up for Kansas.
Rosario’s decision comes after a recent visit to the University of Kansas, where he was impressed by the program and its staff. “The visit was amazing,” Rosario said in an interview with The Kansas City Star. “Everyone was so welcoming. I really enjoyed speaking with the coaches, going on the tour, and learning about the rich history of Kansas basketball.”
Prior to his commitment, Rosario had planned additional official visits with top programs, including Texas A&M on June 22, Duke on June 26, and Baylor on June 29. However, his trip to Lawrence appears to have sealed the deal for head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks.
Rosario’s reclassification accelerates his college journey, allowing Kansas to immediately benefit from his talents a year earlier than initially expected. His addition boosts KU’s 2025 recruiting class and provides a strong scoring option on the perimeter.

This commitment also signals Kansas’s ongoing competitiveness in attracting elite national talent, as Rosario had multiple high-profile programs vying for his services. With Rosario on board, the Jayhawks look to strengthen their backcourt depth and maintain their status as a powerhouse in college basketball heading into the 2025-26 season.
