Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a full agreement with Mainz forward Jonathan Burkardt, according to Bild. The 24-year-old has agreed to all terms of his new contract, which will run until 2030. His base salary will be €2.5 million, with potential for substantial increases through bonuses.

Frankfurt beat out competition from Bayer Leverkusen to secure Burkardt, who had already expressed his wish to join the club back in May. Mainz is aware of his decision to depart. The only detail left to finalize is the financial arrangement between the two clubs. Burkardt has a €20 million release clause, though the fee will be divided among Mainz, the player, and his representatives. Over the next few weeks, Frankfurt and Mainz are expected to negotiate the precise payment structure.

Last season, Burkardt was the top-scoring German player across Europe’s top five leagues, netting 18 goals and adding three assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances. He also made his debut for the German national team in October 2024 under coach Julian Nagelsmann, playing against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
