Breaking; Just Now, Oregon Ducks Emerge as Prime Destination For A Five-star Veteran

Five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, the top-ranked signal-caller in the 2026 class, is nearing a pivotal decision in his recruitment. After decommitting from the University of Georgia in October 2024 to explore other opportunities, Curtis has narrowed his choices to Georgia and Oregon, with a commitment announcement scheduled for May

Curtis, a standout at Nashville Christian School in Tennessee, boasts impressive credentials. Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 225 pounds, he led his team to a state championship and earned accolades such as Tennessee Mr. Football and Gatorade Player of the Year. His junior season statistics include 2,830 passing yards with 40 touchdowns and only three interceptions, along with 637 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns .

In the final days leading up to his decision, both Georgia and Oregon are making concerted efforts to secure his commitment. Georgia’s offensive coordinator, Mike Bobo, has planned multiple visits to Nashville to meet with Curtis and his family, emphasizing the program’s tradition and NFL preparation. Meanwhile, Oregon’s offensive coordinator, Will Stein, is also scheduled for an in-home visit, highlighting the Ducks’ quarterback-friendly system and immediate playing opportunities .

Curtis’s decision is highly anticipated, as it will significantly impact the recruiting landscape. Both programs offer compelling opportunities: Georgia provides a storied history and a pathway to the NFL, while Oregon presents a dynamic offense and the chance for early playing time. As the commitment date approaches, the college football community awaits Curtis’s choice with great interest.
